Join the Maldives' comprehensive diabetes community. Connect with others who understand, access resources, and thrive together—whether you have Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes.
T1DMV (Community One) is dedicated to empowering individuals with Type 1 Diabetes across the Maldives through peer support, education, and accessible care—built by those who understand the journey firsthand.
Aminath Abdul Rahman has lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 30 years—a journey that began in her childhood and shaped her into one of the Maldives' most dedicated diabetes advocates. Her personal experience with T1D drives every initiative we undertake.
For 18 years, Aana served as Program Coordinator at the Diabetes Society of Maldives (DSM), designing and leading nationwide initiatives including free health screenings, community awareness campaigns, and targeted programs for remote atolls. Her work reached thousands, promoting early detection and culturally relevant education.
In 2018, she represented the Maldives as international faculty at the JPEF Annual Diabetes Convention in India, speaking on collaborative care models. Now with T1DMV, Aana is taking her vision further—creating grassroots, patient-centered support free from institutional limits.
